About the Construction Skills Register

The Construction Skills Register (CSR) aims to enhance health and safety standards and decrease accidents in the construction industry. This is achieved by requiring all construction workers to complete health and safety training every four years.

The CSR is a registry of construction workers who have successfully completed an industry-approved CSR health and safety training course and assessment.

The goals of the CSR registration scheme include:

– Improving health and safety standards
– Recognizing skills, experience, and qualifications
– Reducing industry risks and accidents

To become registered, workers must undergo at least one day of health and safety training provided by an accredited training provider. Additionally, operatives can be assessed to determine their competency in their specific skill area. Successful applicants receive a photographic identity card, which serves as proof of their health and safety training, skills, and qualifications where applicable.

Benefits of CSR For Employees:

Verification of skills, competence, and qualifications
Increased health and safety awareness
Improved employment opportunities, as a CSR card is increasingly demanded by contractors, clients, and the government
For Employers:

Enhanced health and safety awareness among the workforce
A strong foundation for staff training and development, ensuring that health and safety training is updated every four years
Reduction in on-site accidents
Ability to identify personnel with recognized safety awareness training and skills
Applicants will receive a photographic ID card that serves as proof of their health and safety training, skills, and qualifications.

All applicants are required to undergo Health and Safety Training and a Skills Assessment, provided by an Accredited CSR Provider.

Once the Health and Safety Training and Skills Assessment are completed, the card will be printed and sent to you. Training providers set their own prices, so costs may vary.
